The Sperrins
Activity Map | 1:25,000
Located in the west of Northern Ireland, the Sperrins are bordered by County Donegal in the west and Lough Neagh in the east.
Recognised as a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Sperrins are one of the most idyllic geographical areas of rural Ireland. The area has made the most of its natural assets with activities such as walking, cycling, angling, mountain biking and golf. Parachuting and micro-light adventures are readily available, weather permitting.
Walking
The rugged countryside of the Sperrins region is one of the most beautiful in Ireland. The natural blend of peaks, forests, moors, valleys, lakes and rivers makes it an obvious favourite for walkers and ramblers. Walks range from challenging hill-walks like Banagher Glen or Craignamaddy, to strolls along rivers and trails such as Dunnamore riverside Walk, Sloughan Glen or Errigal Glen. The Central Sperrins Way begins and ends at Barnes Gap near the village of Plumbridge.
